Culpeper, VA – Culpeper County invites residents and visitors alike to embark on a journey of taste and exploration with the launch of the Sips of Culpeper Beverage Exploration Trail on Friday, April 5th.
Highlighting the rich heritage of hand-crafted beverages in Culpeper County, the trail showcases 8 unique locations, including the birthplace of the first legal moonshine in the United States and Virginia’s pioneering Trifecta: Winery, Brewery, and Distillery all in one.

“With Sips of Culpeper, we invite everyone to experience the unique flavors and craftsmanship that define our region,” shares program organizer and Business Development Coordinator, Winona Pritts. “Whether you’re a seasoned enthusiast or a curious newcomer, there’s something for everyone on this trail.”

Participants can begin their adventure by visiting any winery, brewery, or distillery throughout Culpeper County. Upon arrival, they can pick up an interactive passport, available at any of the 8 locations or at the downtown Visitors Center.

The passport offers a fun and engaging way to track your journey. Receive 5 stamps on your Tier 1 passport and unlock a special Sips of Culpeper beer glass as a token of appreciation. Once you’ve received your glass, pick up your Tier 2 passport and continue your exploration. Collect 7 stamps on your Tier 2 passport, and you’ll earn yourself a limited edition 2024 Sips of Culpeper hat, showcasing your pride in Culpeper’s beverage heritage.

“Sips of Culpeper isn’t just an event; it’s a year-round celebration of our local flavors and craftsmanship”, shares Pritts. “Customers will have the full calendar year to complete their passports, allowing them to savor each stop on their own schedule.”
